P79 International Artist Residency is located in Poshang Village, Tongling, Anhui Province, China, near Fushan Mountain. Set away from the noise of the city, the residency offers a quiet and open environment for focused research, living, and artistic production.

Anhui is widely known for its historic villages, mountain landscapes, and architectural traditions. White walls, black-tiled roofs, and the visual language associated with Huizhou architecture remain an important part of the region's cultural identity. At the same time, Tongling is shaped by a different history. Situated along the Yangtze River, the city has been an important center of copper mining and bronze production for more than two thousand years, forming a unique landscape where geology, industry, agriculture, and local culture intersect.

The residency includes private accommodation, shared studio facilities, communal spaces for exchange, and basic infrastructure supporting daily life and creative work.

The broader region offers a variety of natural, historical, and cultural references. Fushan Mountain is known for its ancient volcanic landforms, caves, lakes, and cliff inscriptions. Around Poshang Village, agricultural fields, village roads, seasonal harvest landscapes, and everyday rural life provide a direct experience of place. Nearby cultural resources include Datong Ancient Town, local museums, libraries, and sites connected to Tongling's copper heritage.

Rather than serving only as a backdrop, the surrounding environment forms an important context for the residency. P79 encourages site-based research, field observation, community engagement, and research-driven artistic practices that respond to local materials, histories, landscapes, and forms of everyday life.

安徽以历史村落、山地景观及传统建筑闻名。白墙黑瓦以及徽派建筑所代表的空间与视觉语言，构成了这一地区重要的文化特征。与此同时，铜陵又拥有另一种独特的历史背景。作为长江沿岸重要的铜矿开采与青铜冶炼地区，铜陵两千余年的铜文化历史塑造了地质环境、工业遗存、农业景观与地方文化交织共存的区域面貌。

驻地配套包括独立生活住宿区、共享工作室空间、公共交流区域，以及支持日常生活与创作实践的基础设施。

P79周边汇集了丰富的自然、人文与历史资源。浮山以古火山地貌、岩洞、湖泊景观与摩崖石刻闻名；坡上村周边的农田、村道、季节性秋收景观及乡村日常生活，则构成了直接而真实的地方经验。区域内还包括大通古镇、地方博物馆、图书馆以及与铜文化相关的历史遗址等文化资源。
