P79 International Artist Residency is located in Poshang Village 79, Tongling, Anhui Province, China, near Fushan Mountain. 2026秋季驻留计划 | Fall 2026 Residency Cycle
The inaugural P79 residency cycle will take place from November 1–21, 2026, in Poshang Village79, Tongling, Anhui Province, China, and will host a cohort of eight resident artists.
One partially funded residency place will be available to a selected applicant. Applicants who wish to be considered for this opportunity may indicate this in the application form and briefly explain how financial support would assist their participation.

The P79 Residency Program welcomes applications from artists, writers, curators, designers, researchers, and interdisciplinary practitioners.

International applicants are encouraged to apply. P79 can provide invitation letters and supporting documentation when required; however, all participants are responsible for securing their own travel documents and reviewing the applicable Chinese Visa Requirements prior to arrival.

Applications are welcome from practitioners at all stages of their careers, from emerging to established professionals.

All applications will be reviewed by the P79 team. Participants are selected based on artistic merit, project relevance, and potential engagement with the local context.

During their residency, artists live and work in Poshang Village 79, engaging with the surrounding mountains, villages, historic towns, museums, former copper mining sites, and everyday local life through observation, research, and creative practice. P79 provides private accommodation with individual bedrooms and individual bathrooms or shared bathrooms, shared studio facilities, outdoor project spaces, and access to basic hand and power tools to support artistic production.
Residents are encouraged to develop projects through direct engagement with the local environment and cultural context. Throughout the residency, opportunities for field research, community exchange, artistic dialogue, and public sharing are provided. P79 may also invite artists, curators, writers, researchers, residency directors, and other cultural practitioners to participate in studio visits, conversations, presentations, and informal exchanges, either in person or online. At the conclusion of each residency cycle, participants may present their work through an open studio, artist talk, exhibition, or other public format.
驻留期间,艺术家将在坡上村79生活与工作,并通过观察、调研与创作实践深入接触周边山林、村落、古镇、博物馆、铜矿遗址及日常生活场景。P79为艺术家提供独立卧室及独立卫生间或二人共享卫生间、共享工作室空间、户外创作场地,以及基础手动及电动工具,以支持驻留期间的研究与创作。
我们鼓励艺术家通过与在地环境和文化语境的直接接触发展创作项目。驻留期间,艺术家将有机会参与田野调研、社区交流、艺术分享及公开活动。P79也将不定期邀请艺术家、策展人、作家、研究者、驻地项目负责人及其他文化工作者,通过工作室访问、分享会、交流讨论等形式与驻留艺术家互动,活动可在线上或线下进行。每一期驻留结束前,参与者可通过开放工作室、艺术分享、作品展示或其他公共形式呈现驻留成果。
驻留费用|Residency Fee

Private Bedroom + Bathroom Shared with One Other Resident
USD $1,050 / RMB ¥7,100
All residents will have a private bedroom. Shared bathrooms will be designated for use by two residents only. Accepted applicants may indicate their preferred accommodation type, with final room assignments confirmed based on availability and the overall accommodation arrangement.
The residency fee includes access to shared studio facilities, communal kitchen and living spaces, as well as pick-up and drop-off transportation between P79 and designated nearby train stations or airports at the beginning and end of the residency.
The residency fee does not include international travel, visa fees, personal living expenses, health insurance, or project materials.
One partially funded place is available. The selected applicant will receive a USD $300 / RMB ¥2,000 reduction from the applicable residency fee.

驻留费用不包含国际往返交通费用、签证费用、个人生活开销、医疗保险及项目创作材料费用。
本期设有 一个部分资助名额。获得该名额的申请者将在对应住宿费用基础上获得 USD $300 / RMB ¥2,000 的费用减免。
申请流程 | Application Process
The application process consists of two stages. Following an initial review, shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a 10–15 minute interview conducted via video call or telephone. Interviews may be conducted in either English or Chinese.
Applications are evaluated based on the quality of the applicant’s artistic practice, commitment to their work, the strength of the proposed project, and their potential to engage meaningfully with the local community and residency environment.
申请流程分为两个阶段。经过初步评审后,入围申请者将受邀参加一场约10–15分钟的视频或电话面试。面试可使用中文或英文进行。

Throughout the residency, P79 may invite artists, curators, writers, researchers, residency directors, and other cultural practitioners to engage with residents through studio visits, presentations, conversations, critiques, and informal exchanges. Programs may take place in person or online.The program aims to foster dialogue, feedback, and connections across different fields and practices.驻留期间,P79将邀请艺术家、策展人、作家、研究者、驻地项目负责人及其他文化工作者,通过工作室访问、讲座分享、交流讨论、作品评议及非正式对话等形式与驻留艺术家互动。活动可根据实际情况在线下或线上进行。嘉宾交流计划旨在促进不同领域与创作实践之间的对话与合作,为驻留艺术家提供专业反馈、经验分享及建立长期联系的机会。
